RF Skin Tightening in Kirkham
Radio frequency for the face and body. No needles, and no recovery time.

Loose or crepey skin
RF skin tightening in Kirkham is the treatment I recommend when skin has started to lose its firmness: along the jawline, on the neck, across the tummy after children, on the backs of the arms. The skin itself feels looser than it used to, even where there is nothing you would call a wrinkle.
Radio frequency (RF) works from the inside. A handpiece warms the deeper layers of the skin in a controlled way, and that gentle heat is what prompts the skin to respond. No needles, and you can go back to your day straight afterwards. I adapt the treatment to the area and to what you want from it.
How RF skin tightening works
The handpiece delivers radio frequency energy through the surface of the skin into the layer underneath, where collagen and elastin sit. The energy heats that layer to a precise, comfortable temperature and holds it there. The heat is the treatment. Over the weeks that follow, treated skin can look firmer and smoother, and the appearance of loose or crepey areas softens.
One session lasts 45 minutes. I work in slow passes, checking the skin temperature as I go, so the warmth builds gradually rather than all at once. It feels like a deep, spreading heat, like a hot water bottle held against the skin, rather than anything sharp.
The technology behind the treatment
With any energy-based treatment the equipment matters, so here are the parameters rather than a brand name. The system I use is a professional monopolar radio frequency device working at 250 kHz, reaching 3 to 4.5 millimetres below the surface. The skin surface is kept within a controlled temperature window throughout to keep the treatment comfortable.
It is CE and UKCA certified. I set the energy level for each area and for your skin on the day. The settings for a neck are not the settings for a tummy.
Who is RF skin tightening for?
This treatment suits women at quite different stages. What they share is skin that has started to feel looser than it looks in their head.
Jawline and neck. The first place many women notice a change in their forties and fifties. RF can help the skin along the jaw and under the chin look firmer and more defined.
After children. A tummy that has been stretched by pregnancy often stays a little loose long after the weight has gone. Body RF can help this skin look firmer.
Back of the arms and above the knees. Areas where the skin thins and softens with time.
Early signs. If you are in your thirties and have started to notice a change in firmness, a course can still make sense. I will tell you honestly if it is too early to bother.
Where RF is not the right choice: skin with a lot of laxity responds less, and I would rather say so at consultation than take your money for a course that will disappoint you.

One session or a course?

Why I recommend a course of 4 to 6
A single session warms the skin, and warmth on its own is not firmness. The lasting change comes from the skin’s own response, and that response builds session by session.
That is why I plan RF as a course of four to six treatments. After the fourth I review the skin with you, compare progress photographs where you are happy for me to take them, and we decide together whether one or two more will add anything. Some skin gets there in four. Some needs six. Afterwards, maintenance treatments may be recommended depending on your skin and the result you have reached, and I will tell you rather than booking you in by default.
Single session | Course of 4 to 6 |
|---|---|
❌ Warmth, and not much more | ✅ Skin’s own firming response builds over the course |
❌ No baseline to measure change against | ✅ Progress reviewed after treatment 4, photographs where agreed |
❌ Good for trying the sensation | ✅ Right choice when you want a visible change |
❌ Booked one at a time | ✅ Planned 7 to 10 days apart, then maintenance if needed |
What to expect from your session
Before
Every course starts with a consultation. I look at the skin, we agree the areas and what you want to see change, and I go through the questions that decide whether RF is suitable for you. Peels, dermabrasion, dermaplaning and laser all need a gap before RF, and I confirm the gap for your skin at consultation. If you have Botox, wait at least 14 days after the last injection; with fillers, at least a month, and only once there is no discomfort left in the area. If your concern is skin condition rather than firmness, a skin analysis is the better first step.
During
I cleanse the skin, do a light enzyme peel if it needs one, and apply actives. Then the radio frequency itself: slow passes of the handpiece over a conductive gel, the warmth building gradually while I check the skin temperature throughout. I finish with cream and SPF.
After
Expect some redness or slight swelling, which usually settles within 24 hours. For 48 hours, skip the sauna, the pool, hard exercise, tea, coffee and alcohol, and drink more water than usual. Otherwise carry on as normal.
Results
Firmness changes over weeks, not overnight, because the skin has to do its part. I review progress after the fourth treatment and we decide the rest of the course from what the skin is actually doing. Results vary between individuals and depend on age, skin condition, lifestyle and how loose the skin was to begin with.

Optional add-ons
- LED light therapy (£20): added after RF to support skin recovery and overall skin condition.
- Cooling and hydrating algae mask (£20): cooling and hydrating, particularly suited to skin straight after RF.
- Nourishing mask (£25): a richer option for skin that would benefit from extra nourishment and barrier support.

Add-ons are booked with your treatment, not added at the end of the appointment. They need extra time, and my diary runs back to back.
Case study and portfolio clients
RF is new to my treatment room, and I want real results to show you rather than a manufacturer’s brochure. While I build that portfolio I am taking a small number of case study clients at a case study price of £35 per treatment.
In return I ask for four things: you commit to the recommended course of four to six treatments, you keep your appointments regularly, you let me photograph the area as the course goes on (used only with your written permission, and the scope of that permission is yours to set), and you tell me honestly what you noticed. Progress is reviewed after treatment four, exactly as it is for every client.
Case study prices with add-ons: RF and LED £55, RF and cooling algae mask £55, RF and nourishing mask £60, body RF and pressotherapy £55.
Places are limited. If you would like one, message me through the contact page and tell me which area you have in mind.
Skin and lifestyle support alongside RF
Firmness is not only about what happens on the couch. Where it is relevant to you, I will talk through skincare for the treated area, and the everyday things that work for or against your skin: sleep, sun, smoking, how much water you drink. If a nutritional supplement could support your skin, I will say so and explain why. None of this is a compulsory part of the course. It is advice from someone who has looked at skin every day for twenty years, and you decide what to do with it.
